Sertaconazole 2% w/w is a broad-spectrum topical antifungal medication used to treat various superficial fungal infections of the skin. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungal agents and works by interfering with the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby inhibiting fungal growth. Sertaconazole is commonly used for conditions such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, and cutaneous candidiasis. It helps relieve symptoms including itching, redness, scaling, and irritation associated with fungal infections. When applied as directed, Sertaconazole 2% w/w provides effective local antifungal action and is generally well tolerated.
